Highlight Videos

Highlight videos are an important component to your recruiting process.

  • Only highlight the POSITIVE things you do in a match, NOT the mistakes you made.

  • Each clip should have 3-5 seconds of video BEFORE and AFTER the actual clip you are highlighting – this allows for the coach to see the process.

  • Don’t use slow motion.

  • The video should be from an elevated height – midway up a typical stadium stands.

  • Clearly show in each clip where you are on the field.

  • Clips must be position specific – Forwards show goal scoring, Midfielders show distribution, Defenders show defending.

  • Make sure the video has offensive and defensive clips

  • Outdoor 11 v 11 clips is preferred

  • Individual drills can be used: juggling, shooting, agility and speed exercises with and without the ball

  • Video the most recent game possible.
