Política contra las inclemencias del tiempo

We are monitoring the incoming weather to determine the impact on the 2024 Strawberry Classic.  Soccer is an all-weather sport, and we compete during inclement weather.  We do not compete in dangerous conditions to the athletes or spectators.

In the case of inclement weather please check emails and our Facebook page (PCFCLancers) regularly for updates.  Game stoppage and Resume Play notifications will go out via GotSport. Any updates with regards to weather and having to adjust the schedule will be posted on our Facebook page, as well as GotSport notification to team coaches and managers.  Our primary concern is player safety because of lightning and heavy rain causing unplayable field conditions.

Upon the Resume Play notifications, please have your team PROMPTLY return to the fields for a quick warm-up before the referee resumes play.  It is important to minimize delays to the following game on your field.

In the case of inclement weather or field conditions, games may:

  • Reschedule or Relocate match

  • Shortened match – The Tournament Director may reduce the length of halves due to weather conditions before the restart of a delayed match

  • Go to “Penalty Kicks”

  • Cancellation—Cancelled games will not be rescheduled. Any game that is not started and is canceled [as opposed to postponed] due to weather or other external conditions, will be recorded as a 0-0 tie.

If the Tournament Director decides on “Taking of Kicks from the Penalty Mark”, the following rules apply:

  • Each team will take a maximum of five (5) penalty kicks.

  • At the end of five (5) kicks the game will be scored as a 1-0 win for the team that has scored more penalty kicks, or a 0-0 tie if both teams are tied in penalty kicks at the end of five (5) kicks.

  • In the overall standings, 3 points will be given for the win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.

  • The 1-0 win in penalty kicks will be counted for or against to determine the tiebreaker for advancement.

Tournament Cancellation:

We will work with the City of Plant City to reschedule the tournament, if possible, once new dates are determined.

Refunds:

If a team is unable to play on the new dates or no reschedule date is available, then the refund policy will go into effect.
